Tidbits from Room 103

As I'm sitting here and updating my site on this gorgeous Sunday afternoon in February.  It's scary to think that we are beginning the fourth week of the third marking period.  The time is going extremely fast.  We've had several labs already, two quizzes and one examination (Chapter 9).  We will have three more exams this marking period.  The next one (Chapter 10) is scheduled for next Thursday (2/26).  Progress reports will be due out in a couple of weeks, but as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Now, back to chemistry.  There's going to be more emphasis on reading chapter assignments.  Too often, the students are relying solely on their notes from class and unfortunately, that isn't enough.  So, we're going to see more 'pop' type quizzes on some of our reading assignments and vocabulary.  I've always found the best way to learn materials is to constantly stay on top of them and not "cram" the night before the exam.  I'd like to see the students reading more.

So, the next two week's schedule is listed below.  If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at paiello@stmaryhs.org or call the school at (201) 933-5220.  If you happen to call, please leave one or two times that is good for me to get back to you so that we can avoid playing "phone-tag".  Thanks!
